PCUTL Projects:
“I’ve been studying for 15 years and so know some things!”: Some adventures in trying to make a study skills programme relevant
Do students need help to adapt their learning and writing skills to suit University? And if they do, how can this be achieved? This Module 2 project reports an attempt to introduce an inter-disciplinary standalone Semester 1, credit-bearing Level 4 study skills module run by discipline-specific academic staff. The project recognises the benefits of academic staff leading the programme, but also acknowledges the challenges of student engagement in a ‘learning-to-learn’ environment.
