Launch of CUROP 2013
The call is now open for researchers at Cardiff University to bid for funding from CUROP – the Cardiff Undergraduate Research Opportunities Programme.
Now entering its sixth year, CUROP offers researchers at Cardiff University a budget to pay for an 8-week summer placement for a promising undergraduate to undertake a staff-defined research project.
The scheme gives researchers an opportunity to pilot new research projects, further existing projects, and can help with staffing during the crucial summer period. Similarly, it offers students a taster of live research, can help inform their decisions about whether to pursue postgraduate study, boosts their skills and helps develop their subject knowledge.
Many supervisors and students go on to jointly publish the results of the projects, and find the fresh perspectives offered by their interactions an invaluable experience.
The deadline for the submission of applications is Thursday 28 February 2013. For further details of the scheme, including the application form, application guidance and details of previously funded projects please visit our CUROP pages.
If you are a student interested in taking a placement through the scheme, please check back in March when we will launch this years projects, or drop us a line via email firstname.lastname@example.org or on Twitter @CardiffEdu and we will send you details directly.
