Quality and Standards
At Cardiff, we give the highest priority to the continuous enhancement of the quality of our programmes and the educational experience provided for our students, affirming these against external measures and principles. We ensure that the quality of the learning experience is appropriate to enable our students to achieve the standards required of the awards made in our name, and involve students as partners in our quality processes. We are working to further develop the information we make available to students to ensure it is consistent across the University, clear, up-to-date, accurate and accessible.
We operate a quality and standards system that covers a range of activities, processes and procedures to:
- support the process of continuous enhancement of our provision;
- ensure there is accountability for decisions taken;
- provide assurances in terms of the maintenance of standards of our awards and the validity of our programmes;
- evaluate what is working well, what is not and what needs to be changed or improved.
Our system aligns with the requirements of the UK Quality Code for Higher Education. Outlines of our specific processes, procedures and regulations can be found below and in the left-hand menu; hence, the information on this page constitutes the University’s Quality Handbook.
