Standing room only at the launch of the Cardiff Branch of the Coleg Cymraeg Cenedlaethol!
Cardiff University’s support for Welsh-medium provision hit a milestone today with the launch of the Cardiff Branch of the Coleg Cymraeg Cenedlaethol. More than sixty students and staff attended the launch held in the Branch’s new Learning Space which was developed with Coleg funding.
Speaking at the event Professor Colin Riordan, Vice-Chancellor of Cardiff University, announced the creation of five new Welsh-medium lectureships, funded for five years by the Coleg. The posts will be based in the Schools of Medicine, Nursing and Midwifery, Healthcare Studies, Law and Journalism. These posts are an integral part of the University’s target of 370 of our students experiencing some element of their programme through the medium of Welsh by 2013-14.
The event was a great success with standing room only for the presentations by students and staff about the work of the Coleg in Cardiff.
